Too good for words!
Here at Rita Farhi we were trying to think of the best way to describe the taste of our nougat and nut brittle. We delved deep in dictionaries and thumbed through thesaurii until eventually we came up with the perfect word: "yummycrunchyhoneycaramelnuttyscrumptious". We think it'll catch on!
Rita Farhi Nut Brittle is a wonderful blend of the traditional confectioner's art and modern innovation. First, the finest ingredients (all natural, of course!) are gathered: almonds grown under the Mediterranean sun in Italy and Spain, sesame seeds, hazelnuts, pistachios, cashews and honey, to name but a few.
Next, the sugar is melted and caramelised in huge copper pots, then mixed with the other ingredients. After this the deliciously sticky mixture is rolled out on a marble table where it hardens into the nutty crunchy delight that is irresistibly moreish.
Rita Farhi Nougat has the same great flavours of honey, caramelised sugar and almonds as the brittle, but with a softer, more chewy texture. For centuries nougat has been a sweet associated with carnival and celebration in Spain and Italy, but thankfully you needn't wait for a special occasion to enjoy it! It's delicious served as an after-dinner digestif with coffee or dessert wine.
