Celebrate International Women's Day With Rita Farhi

Women at Rita Farhi

Celebrating International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we wanted to shout about some of the brilliant women we have working here at Rita Farhi. There is no doubt that this is company that has women as its driving force and while it’s important to highlight that more than once a year, International Women’s Day offers us the perfect vehicle to shout about it to everyone. Named after the Farhi family matriach, Rita, we couldn’t mark this special day in the year, without sharing a picture of Rita Farhi. But it is also the perfect time to shout out some of the women that make Farhi what it is today…

Woman you most admire and why:
Madame CJ Walker - American African entrepreneur, philanthropist and political social activist who recorded as the first female self-made millionaire in America. CJ Walker launched her line of cosmetics and hair care products for black women through a concept she worked on discovered at a time in society where women were second to men in every aspect. Not only did she fight her way through politically oppressive times but also the sexually oppressive times. A talented entrepreneur with a knack for self-promotion. The self-made millionaire used her fortune to fund scholarships for women at the Tuskegee Institute and donated large parts of her wealth to the NAACP, the Black YMCA and other charities.
